About

My name is Oded Levy,

I was born in 1974 in the USA. I live in Israel.

For me, making still images is telling stories by giving the viewer a starting image to interpret.

Stories about moments, ideas and feelings always fascinated me and I found myself  searching to tell my own.

My working method:

When I create a conceptual image, everything is planed ahead.

I use large format cameras on analogue film or 19's century wetplate collodion techniques.

Although sometimes difficult to work with. Those techniques enable

me to achieve the certain look and feel of my work.

On a one day shooting session I photograph usually less then 5 images.

The best one of those images becomes final for display as a one of a kind (positive)

wetplate ambrotype or a negative image on glass plate or film that can be printed on

silver gelatin paper or other methods of alternative printing techniques.

Enjoy my gallery, feel free to comment and share ideas.

For purchasing my work, you are welcome to contact me.

Oded Levy.
